We escaped the New York winter one year & travelled south to a beautiful surfing beach in Mexico. In the village square near our hotel there was a pack of well cared for stray dogs- they were fed each morning and night by the local cafe & shop owners, who even cleaned up after them, and they spent the hot days lounging in the shade.
My kids and I loved watching them, they had long snouts and pointy ears and looked like ancient Egyptian creatures.
